Lawrence Larabee, Jr. MD

Dr. Lawrence Larabee, Jr is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery and is Chief of Surgery at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, North Carolina. He grew up on a farm just outside of Elizabeth City and is recognized as one of the leading orthopedic surgeons in Eastern North Carolina.

Since he made Ahoskie his home in 1998, Dr. Larabee has served as the only orthopedic surgeon in the Roanoke Chowan area, while raising a family and working closely with the team at the hospital to develop “best practices” in surgical procedures for knees and hips. The hospital (Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital) where he is an active member of the medical staff was recognized in recent years by the Joint Commission for quality related to surgical care, including orthopedic surgery, one of the few in the state to achieve this distinction.

Dr. Larabee received his education at Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC with his residency and internship being at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, Michigan.
